“What has always tempted me most is the invisible aspect, the so-called illogical nature of form and spirit.” – Michel Chagall
He began his artistic career in Italy as an actor with leading directors of experimental theatre, notably the heirs of Grotowski’s Laboratory Theatre, such as Bruce Meyers, Silvia and Luisa Pasello, and Stefano Vercelli as acting coach. Simultaneously, he trained in circus arts, particularly clowning and aerial arts. He deepened his understanding of flight in all its forms with various companies such as Transe-express, Retouramont, Olivier Farge, DareDart, and Antoine Le Menestrel. Through his work with Stéphane Filloque of Carnage Production, he experimented with and developed different techniques of suspension and flight, both in theatres and in public spaces.
In 2006, he founded the company Mattatoio Sospeso. The company has since settled in Toulouse, with the support of La Grainerie, a circus arts center in Balma (31).
Listed by Occitanie en Scène as a company of interest and subsequently receiving support for cultural mediation programs from the DRAC Culture (working with children in juvenile justice and nursing homes), its creations draw on climbing, acrobatics, street theatre, circus arts, and the poetics of the “unconventional,” always imbued with irony and poetry. These productions tour internationally and have received significant coverage in the national (ARTE TV, etc.) and international press.
